P.R. Toddler's Academy 

Shiksha has been a second home to these not – so – privileged girls and boys who assemble everyday in a classroom to enhance their reading and writing skills. It has been very gratifying to see them as beginners with the alphabet, then moving on to two letter words and more and finally being able to read. Many of them have exhibited a love for numbers.

Learning to speak basic English was a challenge we took on at shiksha. The hard work paid off. These children feel proud using the golden words - PLEASE, THANK YOU, and SORRY, etc.

In order to do away with the monotony of daily classroom learning, we at shiksha conduct on a regular basis various competitions and activities like Diya Decoration, Candle Decoration, Clay moulding, Drawing Competition, Sports Day and the like. There were also fun times with sandwich making, Happy meals where the children got together and made sandwiches and salad dressing.  While they are trained intellectually we also educate them on values like punctuality, cleanliness and tidiness through stories and dramas.

We wanted to know what these children feel about Shiksha. It was heart warming to know they felt grateful towards this institution that gave them hope that they could start all over again. Here is a place where they learn something new everyday. The rewards and gifts they received for their participation were like trophies to them. More than these entering the premises of Rustomjee School itself is something they never dreamed of!
